Amarillo Powder Coating:

Powder Coating is fast becoming one of the most popular surface finishing technologies.  By definition, Powder coating is the process of applying dry paint instead of normal wet paint, where the solids are suspended in a liquid carrier. Liquid finishes contain solvents, pollutants(AKA) volatile organic compounds and can be harmful to the environment and humans.

Powder coatings contains no solvents and release negligible amounts, if any, volatile organic compounds Into the air. eliminating the need for expensive pollution control measures.

Plus, a high percentage of powder coating overspray can be retrieved and reused, virtually eliminating the paint waste found in liquid finishing systems.

With no VOC's, the air used to exhaust the powder spray booth can be recirculated directly back into the plant, eliminating costly heating or cooling the make-up air. Energy is also saved with the curing ovens. Solvent-based coatings must heat and exhaust huge volumes of air to ensure that the solvent fumes do not reach a potentially explosive level, but the exhaust requirements in powder coating ovens are much lower.

Powder Coating requires no drying or flash-off time and  because parts can be racked closer together (on a rack or conveyor) more parts can be coated at one time. Unlike liquid painting, Powder Coating does not run, drip, or sag.

Powder coating provides an attractive and durable finish, offering excellent resistance to corrosion, heat, impact, and abrasion.
